There are times when we feel scared, worried or anxious about something which is a normal reaction of our body when there is something perceived to be harmful for the body. This may be a passing feeling when an individual faces a difficulty in life or needs to perform a task in public. Although, if one experiences it on a daily basis it may not be classified as normal any longer, it could be that the person already has an anxiety disorder. There are even people who experience severe anxiety when they come face to face with something they are dreading about. But medical study shows that vitamins may improve the mood and help release tension.
There may be things that may not be changed no matter how hard one thinks about it. Thus, acceptance would be the only way to get rid of the anxious feeling. If a person would continue to worry about things that are unchangeable, they would readily feel the physical signs associated with it. Palms sweating, “butterflies in the stomach,” and tremors are often common when a person is about to take an important exam, go for an interview or will perform in public. But in severe forms of anxiety, the symptoms would be amplified and would affect the perception of a person. The symptoms are intensified because the senses are heightened during this fight or plight, as a normal response of the body. The surrounding factors are also hard to process emotionally and mentally because the brain goes into hyper drive.
Heartbeat starts to race which is commonly accompanied with feelings of dread leads most patients to think that they are having a heart attack, thus, adds more fear. The thought of having a heart attack would cause them to hyperventilate and feel like they are choking. The lack of oxygen due to hyperventilation may decrease oxygen circulation that leads to a tingling sensation at the ends of fingers and toes. Decreased circulation also causes light headedness or dizziness which affects their perception and thinking. There is a feeling of impending death that is hard to shrug off making them feel more anxious and worried of what might happen next. It might even seem like an out-of-body experience where everything seems surreal. Activities are put on hold whenever anxiety starts to increase which is why most people are looking for ways to calm themselves down. Breathing techniques may help and there are many ways to decrease the level of anxiety. More information regarding anxiety management is found at this site.
